Head of Maintenance (Power Plant)
Job description
Our client, a well-known MNC in the Power Industry is looking for a candidate for the position of Head of Maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and engage personnel in Maintenance (Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation & Control) to work as an integrated team under O&M Division to optimize resources and enhance productivity.
- Strategic key position to ensure comprehensive maintenance of all the assets including the non-process areas, are undertaken in compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements in Singapore, applicable Engineering Standards and code of practices.
- Ensure maintenance is optimized financially and is undertaken in a safe, timely and effective manner to achieve the Company’s targets on workplace safety and health, reliability and availability of generating units including cyber security of industrial control system, and efficiency for the plant, energy and water.
- Change the mindsets of experienced and long serving maintenance personnel to accept and operationalize the new target operating model together with the new organization structure.
- Improve and update the maintenance practices, process and scheduling function as well as build up competency of team members to work cohesively with other teams to deliver key outcomes through effective use of identified tools and systems.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering field – Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Maintenance field in Power, Chemical, Oil & Gas plants

Responsibilities
• Applies personnel and process safety principles in manufacturing facilities
• Using fundamental chemical engineering principles, work with others to maintain and build the organization's in-depth knowledge of olefins process technology
• Drives operational improvements through technical contribution and innovation
• Adapts process technology from other sources (e.g. refining) to olefins operations
• Work with internal and external technical specialists as well as business planners to develop capital projects from initial business concept through design basis for engineering.
• Develop and evaluate project options (application of advanced technology, configuration options, process optimization) with the aim of meeting business objectives and maximizing value.
• Create the engineering deliverables required to make go/no go decisions on projects, including material balances, facilities definition, feed/product specifications, and operating costs.
• Willing to travel.
Qualification
• Degree in Chemical engineering from a recognized university
• Strong in Chemical Engineering principles and analytical skills with 5-15 years of strong background in olefins plants
• Working knowledge of design and trouble shooting of distillation applications common to olefins plants
• Knowledgeable in numerous sub-specialties of olefins recovery technology
• Working knowledge of industry design tools for process simulation and distillation tray design/rating
• Understands economic analysis and can apply to project development, acquisition, and development of technology
• Demonstrated ability to use design tools and in applying them in complex troubleshooting situations
• Good presentation skills, capable of representing the company to external entities
• Effective verbal and written skills (e.g. technical reports and technology rollout presentations at plant sites)
• Interacts effectively with all levels of the organization on technical topics
• Self-starter, takes the initiative in applying, developing and communicating technical issues
• Good multi-tasking skills
